Our current plan for today is to leave Arkansas and head to Tennessee, stopping for a look around Memphis and to stop for the night in Nashville. It will probably be a much shorter driving day than the past 3-4 so we have some time to either relax at the beginning or end of the day or for doing some sightseeing. We had thought about visiting Graceland in Memphis purely for the novelty of it, but neither of us is enough of an Elvis fan for it to be worth the time or the money to go! We will see what happens as the day goes on, perhaps we will decide to go a little further than Nashville but we will probably do something as simple as go somewhere for a nice sit-down dinner. We’ve been so busy go-go-go since we left Reno that we have mostly been grabbing whatever is convenient to eat on the road, while staying reasonably healthy. Subway has been a favourite stop so far!

It was fun to speak with you today and hear the officer “hunk” story in your own voice. Can’t believe you’re doing so well about food on the road. I also can’t believe how many less cookie/candy/caffeine breaks I take now that you’re more than halfway across the country. Take care and hope you get some relaxation in tonight. Hi all, thanks for all the comments. We’re in Nashville tonight and are considering spending an extra day here tomorrow to see the place. The Arizona/Grand Canyon pics will be up soon, we didn’t have Internet access the night after the Grand Canyon and have been too go-go-go to get fully caught up since!
I finally have made a point of reading about your ongoing adventure and am so glad you are having a chance to see so much of the Mighty U.S.!! As you said, there is so much to see and so little time. Glad you did get to the Grand Canyon and Zion–unbelievable beauty! The local “cuisine” is always a treat too–did you get any Texas chili?
